Ausstellung 'Roads of Arabia' in Berlin |
|
 Hiermit möchten wir Sie auf die kürzlich eröffnete Ausstellung "Roads of Arabia - Archäologische Schätze Saudi-Arabiens" hinweisen, die vom 26. Januar bis 9.April 2012 im Pergamonmuseum Berlin als Kooperation des Museums für islamische Kunst Berlin mit der Saudi Commission for Tourism and Antiquities stattfindet. Die Schau wird nach Paris, Barcelona und St. Petersburg nun in Berlin als einziger Station in Deutschland gezeigt. Präsentiert werden spektakuläre Zeugnisse der Vor- und Frühgeschichte sowie des antiken Saudi-Arabiens: erste Faustkeile, 6000 Jahre alte anthropomorphe Steelen, monumentale ägyptisierende Kolossstatuen, bezaubernde Glas- und Metallarbeiten der römischen Antike, sowie Objekte der Keramikrevolution der islamischen Frühzeit.

Call for Papers: 10. Internationaler Kongress für Keramik des Mittelmeerraumes |

The tenth edition of the International Congress on Medieval Pottery in the Mediterranean (X CICM2) will be held in Silves from 22nd October to 27th October 2012, organized in partnership by Silves Local Authority, the International Association for the Study of Medieval Ceramics in the Mediterranean, Mértola's Archaeological Site and the Archaeological Studies Centre from the Universities of Coimbra and Porto.
Call for papers. 1st November - 31st January, 2011.
A décima edição do Congresso Internacional "A Cerâmica Medieval no Mediterrâneo" será realizada entre os dias 22 e 27 de Outubro de 2012, em Silves, sendo organizado no âmbito de uma parceria entre a Câmara Municipal de Silves, a Associação Internacional para o Estudo da Cerâmica Medieval no Mediterrâneo, o Campo Arqueológico de Mértola e o Centro de Estudos Arqueológicos das Universidades de Coimbra e Porto. O prazo de recepção de propostas de comunicação e poster decorre entre o 1 de Novembro e o 31 de Janeiro de 2011. (ver folheto de divulgação em anexo).

.jpg) The Austrian art historian Josef Strzygowski (1862-1941) was born on 7 March 1962 in Biala and died 70 years ago. His memory motivates us to dedicate a conference to a now nearly forgotten but once one of the best-known and controversial art historians.

Eröffnung der Dauerausstellung aus der 'Keir Collection' |

Die international als 'Keir Collection' bekannte Sammlung islamischer Kunst von Edmund de Unger wird künftig als umfangreiche Leihgabe die Bestände des Museums für Islamische Kunst der Staatlichen Museen zu Berlin bereichern.
Die Eröffnung der Ausstellung fand am 17. März 2010 mit einem kleinen Festakt im Mschatta-Saal des Museums für Islamische Kunst statt.
